Description
This amazing 19th century oil painting was discovered in a false ceiling in the Grand Victorian I had renovated from 1984 to when the house was sold in 1997. Other objects were also discovered in the false ceiling which lead up the stairs to the second floor. The original oil was appraised and viewed my found treasure, the Historic New Orleans Cabildo and The Antiques Road show which I appeared in a featured segment back in 2001. A android smart phone 5 pixel was used and its fish eye application to include the entire circumference of the painting. The beautiful painting is plaster on a barrel lid and is in amazing condition. Slight enhancement of color was used. The PBS Antiques Road show did inform me and mentioned a particular artist who did travel the eastern seaboard more than likely Virginia area and have been searching the name of the artist..This beautiful painting remains in my private collection. A remarkable treasure while renovating a Grand Victorian in New Orleans, LA This 19th century would make ideal as a print, canvas or greeting cards.
The actual painting is circular barrel wooden lid the black is the photo application I used to give the painting a colored border.

It pleases me this photo appeals to you and I appreciate the generous comment and the L, Fav, this was truly unexpected find while renovating the Grand Victorian which I was restoring...there was a fake ceiling leading to the second floor, which was removed and exposed the walls up to the second floor, along with this painting was a very large Victorian Parlor lamp shade with glass bead work. The antiques road show could not find a signature on the fresco painting on a barrel lid. Cheers, Michael Hoard
