This photograph tied for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the SAINT JOSEPH - FOSTER FATHER OF JESUS December 2020
Photo taken March 2017, one of a gallery series including forward portrait taken two years later.
The statue of St. Joseph a generous gift of a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. This image the first of a series I took of the statue and part of a new series titled The Feast Day of St. Joseph. along with other interior images of the food display alter directly under the statue of St. Joseph. which suspends hanging on the wall above the alter.
In all the images I took with my cell and cannon camera there is a brilliant unexplained white light which was not present as I took images from various angles of the alter inside. The haunting and compelling feature of the eyes was discovered upon returning home and viewing the images I took and enlarging them. The eyes to the statue which sits outdoor appears to be realistic and all the images will be presented to the parish pastor of St. Joseph for viewing....
.Photographer notes update, the compelling realistic eyes with in the hollow socket of the marble statue was created by a tiny garden spider which traveled down behind the statue on a palm leaf frond. Upon enlarging the image to highest ratio the tiny white line to the left of the photo by the eye is a spiders webbing and along with the spun web in the hollow eye socket of the marble statue creates a compelling and haunting image....

The first image of a new series titled The Feast Day Of St. Joseph. This image taken outside of St. Joseph a generous gift of a parishioner of the parish. The haunting and compelling detail of the eyes was discovered after I returned home to view all the images I took the day of public viewing of The Feast Day Alter of St. Joseph March 20, 2017 in New Orleans, Louisiana. All the images of the series of images titled The Feast Day of St. Joseph will be presented to the parish priest for viewing including the brilliant white light cast on the statue of St. Joseph above the food display alter.
