The amazing photo is of the statue of Joan of Arc was a gift to the City of New Orleans from France. Joan of Arc birthday is January 6. Here in New Orleans for the past 6 years there has been a Joan of Arc parade. the queen Joan of Arc is selected by the French Consulate and must speak French and she is selected to ride horse back in period clothing through the parade which is held in the French Quarter. A very rare permit was allowed for the parade to pass directly in front of the St. Louis Cathedral the oldest continued Catholic Church in America, and Jackson Square. Happy Birthday Joan of Arc!
