This image taken shortly after the night time fireworks display New Year's Eve in New Orleans on the Mississippi River. This photo was taken from the rear of the oldest continued Catholic Church in the United States, the St. Louis Cathedral. The photo was taken on Royal Street facing the Mississippi River and the rear of the cathedral, On the back of the Cathedral is the shadow of Jesus from the statue which is in the garden below. A spot light beamed in front of the statue cast a shadow on the back of the Cathedral. The alley on the side of the Cathedral are resident town homes and shops below. Here with the light drizzle from the rain and the reflection on the sidewalk creates a unique surreal effect. New Year revelers walk toward the firework display for close up view. This photo was taken with wide angle lens setting using a Nikon 820.
