Description
This leafless tree photo was taken in City Park, New Orleans, Louisiana USA The tree with its leafless branches reaches out to the green foliage behind it. In the background is a swan fluffing its feathers. The tree while living was home to many species of insects and birds. More than likely became home to the formosan termite and eventually killed the tree. The fate of the tree its last visual sight to the residents of New Orleans was Hurricane Katrina.

Hello Janine, I recently passed by this amazing tree and it still remains they have removed some of the brush behind it. This was in City Park of New Orleans, hank you for viewing and the V, recently a giant oak was struck, by lightning, a sculptor turned the entire tree into carvings of different frids at the end of the branches, such a remarkable site to see. He sued a cheery picker and a gas powered saw to do all the carvings of the birds.

I see a human figure standing there tell the other trees, perhaps, about life, or perhaps that it is not yet dead. I have seen such trees come back to life, especially here in the Tropics where everything grows anew if you just leave it in the ground. v

Michael Hoard, So many trees and bushes yet one stands out...alone and unique. Powerful one against the foliage. People in a crowd can be like a forest. Wonderful point of view! F/V Mary Beth Landis
