Probably different crucifiers would choose either the hand or the wrist to drive the nails through. Either way it would be agony!

Hello John, thank you so much for viewing Iesus Nazarenvs Rex Ivadaeorum at St. Joseph catholic Church In New Orleans, Louisiana it pleases me this photo appeals to you, there has been on going discussion pertaining to the hands of Jesus not attached to the cross, I have never seen this before I am 62 years old, I was informed the statue was repaired but I am certain it was replaced, another Fine Art of America had taken a photo of the identical corpse just 2 to 3 years ago, and her statue the hands are fixed to the cross, my photo they are not. I appreciate the V/F, Cheers, Michael Hoard

Great shot Michael. I love the hands of Jesus floating away from the cross. I like the implications one could read into it. V/F

Love this shot, Michael, and yes the arms are not pierced the same way as in mine. Also, mine has a piece of steel by the hand and cross bar of cross on the left side of image as you face it on screen. I could not find in a search info regarding this change. kk
