Greetings Minnetta, thank you so much for viewing New Orleans Marie Laveau Tomb In St. Louis Cemetery it pleases me this unique photograph of the historic tomb of the infamous Marie Laveau appeals to you. I so appreciate your comments and share your sentiments. I would like to add this photograph and ritual of marking an x on the tomb I too placed three X's. As an explanation to visitors to the photograph a few years back an individual went into the cemetery and painted the historic tomb pink. Because of the paint used historians along with the historic commission stepped and painstaking had to restore the entire tomb ending casual visitation. If I am not mistaken reports were at that time the individual may have thought he or she was doing the right thing but it was evident damage to the historic tomb had to be stored. Cheers, Michael Hoard eyeseeColors

Great shot. They cleaned her tomb up a couple years ago. In addition, one can't enter the cemetery without a paid guided tour. That sort of takes the fun out of going there, I don't want to listen to someone ramble on, I just want to explore by my self. Have a great day!
