Great capture, though one that you probably would have preferred not to make. Thankfully none of our British spiders are deadly, though occasionally one might appear in a crate of bananas from The West Indies.

Yes Michael, Spiders give me the creeps too (even photos). - Here in Australia we have the same one but call it 'Black Widow' or 'Red Back' (since the red hourglass marking is on its back) and they can be deadly if a bite is not treated with an anti-venom. - Ghastly critters ! :-(
