Description
While getting my bike by a building outside of a building in the Lower Garden District I noticted a spider down near the ground moving making a web. Upon closer observation I noticed an orange hour glass on its underside. Brown widow's bite not as lethal as a black widow but can cause ill effects. This particular spider did seem to be more black than brown, with white striping. I have been bitten twice once by a brown recluse and once by a wolf spiders Spiders are not one of my favorite insects....

Great capture, though one that you probably would have preferred not to make. Thankfully none of our British spiders are deadly, though occasionally one might appear in a crate of bananas from The West Indies.
