Description
This vintage hand-painted sign is located in the world famous French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana. Located on the side of a Fire House, the sign is part of the historic building and protected by the French Quarter Vieux Carrie Commission. Most city have ordinances to keep the original signs remaining for there beauty and aesthetics. Thus southern popular drink was originated in the 1700's and South Carolina does claim to be the first southern state to serve this drink. Very popular here in New Orleans, Louisiana served for lunch, dinner or just sitting on porch sipping your mint julep and watching the City That Care Forgot pass by.....This popular drink is best served over crushed ice. This original sign possibly dates back to mid 30's to 50's when hand painted signs were most popular then. "Oh honey, would you please make mine a double bourbon in my next one" I had a rough day at work!
