This stunning and most beautiful maroon iris seems to be performing a waltz of the Spring Equinox This fully opened maroon iris is one of the various variety's planted around the Tulane Campus one of many along the pathway planted at Tulane Campus uptown in New Orleans, Louisiana. This photo was taken with a Nikon 820 macro zoom manual settings. The uptown campus is ablaze currently with all shades and variety's of the Iris plants. Some of the species have crossed pollinated and include multi colored petals white, pink, lavender and deep purples to maroon. Its exciting to see the campus ablaze with such a beautiful species of flora this time of year spring equinox.which was official in March. There were only a few of this variety. This photo was taken with a Nikon 820 wide angle macro zoom.
