While getting my bike outside a building in the lower garden district I glanced down and saw this spider. Getting closer to it I discovered an orange hour glass. I first thought it was a black widow but now know its a brown widow. This spider is not as serious as a black widow but can cause ill effects.. The spider did have white stripes as well it appeared more black than brown body. Spiders are not my favorite of insects, I had been bitten twice once by a brown recluse, one by a wolf spider.....
