The exact replica of The African Queen, the famous boat from the 1951 movie the year I was born, this replica of The African Queen adapted 1935 of the novel. The movie was directed by John Huston, This photo was enhanced using sepia tone to give the photo a vintage look. This photo was taken at the 1984 New Orleans World's Fair, in the background is the monorail which was constructed elevated and took you over the World's Fair Site, after the worlds fair the mono rail was removed. The 1984 Wolrd's Fair was designed and used historic buildings on the river front and central business warehouse district of New Orleans, Louisiana. The warehouse is now a thriving, urban redevelopment in a metropolitan and historical city. The warehouses were once cotton mills, warehouses for good shipped up and down the Mississippi River in the 1800 and earlier via paddle boats. I had always had a passion for motor and sail boats since a young boy.

Greetings Shoal, thank you so much for viewing The African Queen in New Orleans, LA it pleases me this iconic boat appeals to you and I appreciate the generous comment. During the 1984 World's Fair I worked full time at a 35mm one hour film lab processing thousands of rolls of visitors photos. I took PR photos of the fair from opening to closing.
