Hello First Star Art, thank you for the feature of Dragon Fly, in the group Loving The Color Green, having never seen a damsel fly in 61 years a fellow FAA member has correctly identified this species of insect for me, because the insect is similar to a dragon fly and somewhat related the title Dragon Fly shall remain......I appreciate that, Boo, Michael

Greetings everyone today I received an email from a fellow FAA member Roy Erickson he identified the species of insect which I thought was a dragon fly, having lived in New Orleans 61 years I have never viewed a Damselfly, they are similar to the dragon fly but very different, they are very unique, they eat mosquitos, and other tropical species eat spiders, having viewed this insect close up for the very first time makes this capture very exciting.....Thank you Roy, Michael Hoard

Artist's Description

This damsel rest on a garden plant in the lower garden district, the winds from the tropical storm may have blown the insect inland, this particular mosquito was extremely immature recently developed to flying stage, its now October and a bit late for this newly developed damsel fly look similar to mosquito hawks.

Note: A Fine Art America member correctly identified this as a Demsel fly they resemble mosquito harks and are in the same insect category.
This photo was taken with a Nikon 820 macro zoom manual focus,
