Description
Detail of the snake tail carving with a lotus flower. This beautifully carved relief is atop the Nunnery at Uxmal. The snake or serpent is carved across the entire facade. Among other detailed objects is an owl, lotus flower, winged falcon, warrior, and other objects of learning. My guide Carlos informed me the temple or Nunnery rooms were used as ancient classrooms. This macro photo was taken with a Nikon 820 macro zoom, manual settings, This image would be ideal to any collector of Mexican Art Carvings.
