Description
I was fortunate to be employed over the many years spent in the Gulf of Mexico as a chef on large exploration boats to oil production platforms. It is not uncommon to see hundreds and hundreds of sharks feeding on smaller fish which live near the oil production platforms. This photo taken with a Cannon EOS 10 SLR asa 400 film, 300 mm telephoto lens.
The photo was taken many stories up right below the heliport where the gallery is located. I was able to declare my camera upon departure out to the platforms. Photography was allowed only in designated areas for safety and homeland security.

Greetings Patricia, nope but on some areas of platforms the area just off the gallery the entire deck is iron grates and the grills are away and from the main portable buildings area from the rig for safety and I remember I use to see the sharks below, as I would be grilling for steak night which was always twice a week hand cut rib eye about one inch think or better.... I loved the deep water where the water is so clear you could see all the marine life....thanks for viewing
