This photo of the Steam Boat Natchez heading downstream on the Mississippi River in New Orleans, Louisiana. I have on many occasions taken the cruise with visiting friends and family. The original captain of the Natchez back in the 1860''s resided just down the street where I currently live. His home is on the national register of Historic Places in America. In my private collection I have original documents dating back to 1860's original insurance logs of all the famous riverboats which traveled all along the Mississippi, the insurance log list riverboats such as the S. S. Robert E. Lee, the original Natchez and many more.

Greetings Kathleen, thank you so much for viewing The Steamboat Natchez, its such a beautiful sight to see on the Mississippi River at Jackson Square, I was actually in a mini series filmed on the river and my character was a Tom Sawyer character, and stood on the upper deck with the leading Character as we pulled away from the dock, I remember it was so much fun, and it was just her and I and I had to take my straw hat off and wave to everyone at the realistic 1800's dock setting. All the ladies were dresses in period dress. thank you for the generous comment and I am pleased you selected this photo to comment.....Cheers, Michael Hoard
