Description
A winged birds sets high atop a float at a night time parade during Mardi Gras 2014. This particular flat is a traditional paper machine and detailed painting and three dimensional petals coming from the float. All the floats which are designed are built to a maximum height to avoid hitting the power lines. In the beginning of each parade a electric utility truck slowly proceeds the parade. Atop the truck is a pole and if it were to touch a power line which may have sagged the power company makes adjustments and parade resumes. Usually the lines are inspected well advance of the Mardi Gras season as well as the branches from the mighty oak trees which line world famous St. Charles Avenue. This photo was taken with a Nikon 820 wide angle setting, night exposure and flash setting for color adjustments.
