Description
Copyright Warning Do Not Alter My Photograph Notes: This iconic statue is in a local cemetery here in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is located at the historic Lake Lawn Cemetery. The angel is located in a private family crypt or tomb and the cemetery does open the tomb for locals and tourist to view this stunning angel. The cemetery was built on what was once a former race track. New Orleans Cemeteries are name "City's Of The Dead" because of the city is built below sea level quite a few graves are above ground. The cemeteries here in New Orleans, Louisiana are quite unique. The blue cast is from the surrounding blue stain glass windows of the tomb or crypt. Different times of the day cast different like and creates different moods to this beautiful piece of sculpture. This photo was enhanced to produce the rich blue color on the angel.
