Description
Copyright Warning Do Not Alter My Photographer Notes: This amazing photo taken in New Orleans, Louisiana at Lake Lawn Cemetery, the crypt or tomb is a family vault. There are blue stain glass windows and on certain days the inside of the tomb is flooded with the most beautiful blue light. On the day this remarkable photo was taken the tomb was closed but a side window was open. I stood up and reached my hand inside and took this photo. The Historic Cemetery was built on the site which was a horse race track. This image is a very popular image taken by tourist and locals alike.

Hi Michael...I like your image. A wonderful angle for the shot of the angel. There is a feeling of sorrow or sadness in this frame. Very moving...Cheers Bob

Hello Pamela, thank you so much for viewing the generous comments and observation, when this photo was taken it was my first visit to this tomb, it was closed but someone had knock the beautiful stain glass window ajar, I stood up on my tip toes, reached my hand inside holding my camera and took this and angled the camera downwards and captured this photo. The other photo when I went around the door was open but the cast iron gate was locked. At different times of the day the room is flooded with the most beautiful blue light from the all blue stain glass. On cloudy days the marble is stalk white.

What a fascinating perspective on this statue. The position, the blue lighting, the statue itself of course, all together just make the perfect treat for the eyes. For me, the most unusual overhead angle is what carried me away even though I liked your other angle in a different shot of the same subject. F
