The beautiful Iris appears to take flight announcing the Spring Equinox in New Orleans Louisiana. The Spring Equinox occurred on March 20, 2014. This beautiful Iris bud is one of many along the pathway planted at Tulane Campus uptown in New Orleans, Louisiana. This photo was taken with a Nikon 820 macro zoom manual settings. The camera was turned on its angle to include the entire Iris bud. The uptown campus is ablaze currently with all shades and variety's of the Iris plants. Some of the species have crossed pollinated and include multi colored petals white, pink, lavender and deep purples to maroon. Its exciting to see the campus ablaze with such a beautiful species of flora this time of year.
