Description
This truck abandoned for years is over grown with vines. While on a friends farm in rural Mississippi. While exploring the forest on what was once a farm I had come out of the pine forest and behold I came upon this truck which was owned by his father. The original photo is in color, I used sepia tone to add a little mystery to the scene. This photo was entered into a FAA photo contest. The color photo is quite revealing the rust produced from being exposed to the elements of nature. In most cases owners of large property would designate areas on a farm and just leave in place machinery or cars which no longer had a purpose. My friend is from a large family of 12, the farm in its earlier years was a thriving farm. The family lived off the land from livestock to all the fresh vegetables which were canned to provide during the winter months. The land was inhibited by indians, and after his father would plow the fields and find arrow heads. He also told me a story once when he was very young traveled deep in the woods and may have come across an indian burial mound. Everyone takes photos and as the expression is a photo is worth a thousand words. In this particular case the photographer had knowledge of a family's past.
